Marite Männi is an Estonian pianist based in Germany, specializing in Lied. Her work as a song accompanist has brought her to stages such as the International Lied Duo Competition in Groningen—where she and baritone Jasper Lampe received second prize in 2024—as well as the Hugo Wolf Academy’s Beyond Lied Days. She combines deep musical sensitivity with a broad repertoire. Studied in Tallinn, Frankfurt, and currently in Stuttgart, her artistic path is shaped by collaborations, orchestral performances, and masterclasses with renowned musicians.

About

Marite Männi is an Estonian pianist based in Germany with a strong focus on Lied. She performs both as a soloist and as a song accompanist.

In 2024, she and baritone Jasper Lampe received second prize at the International Lied Duo Competition in Groningen. In 2025, she is a scholarship holder of the Exzellenzlabor Lied masterclass. She has performed at the Beyond Lied Days of the Hugo Wolf Academy and has been part of the Yehudi Menuhin Live Music Now program since 2021, where she regularly appears in concert with soprano Lara Rieken.

In addition to her work in Lied, she has performed with the Vaasa City Orchestra in Finland and with the EMTA Symphony Orchestra in Estonia.

Born in Tallinn, she began piano lessons at the age of six. She studied at the Estonian Academy of Music and Theatre with Prof. Peep Lassmann and continued her education at the Frankfurt University of Music and Performing Arts. She is currently specializing in Lied accompaniment with Prof. Götz Payer at the State University of Music and Performing Arts Stuttgart.

Her artistic development has been shaped by masterclasses and mentorships with Alexej Gorlatch, Christopher Park, Einav Yarden, Dmitry Ablogin, Anne Le Bozec, Leif Ove Andsnes, Christian Ihle Hadland, Hedwig Fassbender, and Sophia Rahman.

In 2022, she was selected for the TONALi Stage Academy in Hamburg. She has been awarded the Deutschlandstipendium and is currently supported by the arteMusica Foundation. Her repertoire ranges from classical to contemporary music, with a particular focus on art song.
